Quality data collection; sheet metal fabricator uses new technology and standard "open" systems to capture manufacturing data

Article Abstract:

The Applied Technology Training Center (ATTC) was established to provide local industries with high-technology training and assistance. Such training includes the need to immerse people in various manufacturing technologies such as total quality management, just-in-time, computer integrated manufacturing and statistical process control. Realizing the need to establish a common interface that will link the technologies together, ATTC has come up with an innovative data-collection system that is accessible to all application areas.

Quality pros tap into the power of Windows

Article Abstract:

Windows-based computer programs are rapidly gaining popularity in the field of statistical process control (SPC) because of their advanced capabilities and convenient features. Aside from offering menu and point-and-click features, Windows-based software solutions allow quality professionals to access a wide range of information and SPC tools in real time. They also allow SPC data to be monitored, collected, shared and analyzed within a local area network.
