Process medium, pressure range, environment, accuracy, dial size, connections and mountings are the seven factors that must be considered when choosing pressure gages. For instance, it is vital to consider under what process medium the gages would be exposed. On the other hand, the application must first be determined if it is of the static or dynamic type before the range of the pressure gage is selected. Environmental concerns such as ambient temperature, airborne dust, available light and vibration should also be considered.

Load measuring pins detect overloads
Article Abstract:
Magtrol has unveiled new load-measuring pins for monitoring overloads in applications such as, static weighing in silos, platforms and tanks; control of traction forces on cableways; and force measurement in industrial processes. The pins are installed into machines, and produce a signal proportional to the measured load. They are made of high-resistance stainless steel, with capacities ranging from 0.25 to 250 tons.
