Article Abstract:

The US Occupational Safety and Health Administration's proposed ergonomics standard was poorly received by mass media and domestic manufacturers despite its potential to improve worker productivity significantly. The main contention against the regulation is the high cost of its implementation. Meanwhile, engineers believe that the proposed ergonomics standard will have no significant effects on their practice for they have always prioritize the comfort and health of workers in their designs.
