Telecom industry forum working toward TL 9000, on ISO 9000-based standard

Article Abstract:

Telecommunications companies throughout the industry are aiming to establish the technical standard TL 9000. TL 9000, which include ISO 9001 standards, was developed to improve quality standards within the industry and is appropriate for suppliers and service providers alike. A central data base will be established to hold quality information. TL 9000 implementation will bring many benefits to the industry including enhanced service provision.

Continual improvement using ISO 9001

Article Abstract:

One of the key additions to ISO 9001:2000 is a subclause 8.5.1 requirement for continual improvement. Subclause 8.5.1 requires the organization to 'continually improve the effectiveness of the QMS through the use of the quality policy, quality objectives, audit results, analysis of data, corrective and preventive actions and management review.'

Quality practitioners and effective corporate governance

Article Abstract:

ISO 9001:2000 and ISO 14001:1996 can be used to reduce the risks CEOs, CFOs and boards of directors face when complying with SOX (Sarbanes-Oxley law), is shown. Any comprehensive QMS or EMS (quality and environmental management systems) can be used in place of ISO 9001 and ISO 14001.
