Changes in site

Article Abstract:

The UK Amalgamated Engineering and Electrical Union (AEEU) is taking a tough approach towards site management firms which fail to implement reforms set out by the construction industry. Electricians are not treated fairly by the UK construction industry, according to Paul Corby who is the AEEU national officer. Corby also claims the pay structure of electricians needs to be assessed as there is a wide discrepancy between pay rates in different parts of the country.

All change here please: over the past decade the environmental lobby has moved into the political mainstream and the construction site is becoming a prime target

Article Abstract:

The construction industry is an obvious target for environmental pressure, particularly electrical installations, as it is a major energy user in its process and eventual building use. Green issues are becoming more prominent again with the blue chip firms taking the lead in making a commitment to the environment. Major capital cost savings can be made on m&e services by designing for natural ventilation rather than air conditioning.
