The barriers to total quality management

Article Abstract:

A survey of quality experts found that businesses that have implemented total quality management (TQM) initiatives face common challenges, many of which are related to strategic planning and personnel management. Many are concerned about management compensation schemes and employee training. An analysis of business practices by Malcolm Baldridge National Quality Award winners found most of them implement programs that in tune with the principles behind TQM.

What do online customers value?

Article Abstract:

The Census Bureau of the Department of Commerce estimates that e-commerce sales amounted to $18.4 billion in the fourth quarter of 2004. The estimates are based on a survey conducted to guage the consumers' perceptions about various e-quality factors related to online purchasing. The methodology of the survey is also detailed.
