Turbulence over LOX

Article Abstract:

A consortium has put forward plans to invest an estimated 4.5 billion pounds sterling in a 'mega-airport' in the Vale of the White Horse, Oxfordshire. This would have two 4,000 mt parallel runways and cover around 2,000 ha, making it much bigger than Heathrow. The potential developers claim that the airport will remove pressure from London's existing international airports. However, opponents believe that it is not logical to build another airport so close to an area where there are four already.

Reconstruction of sonar images using computerized tomography

Article Abstract:

Recent research at the Defence Research Agency has focused on recording high resolution sonar echoes from objects on the sea bed. Objects were placed on a turntable, allowing a tomographic image to be built up. This research has indicated that it could be possible to develop computerised tomography to better classify sea-bed objects using sonar.
