UV lights improve IAQ

Article Abstract:

Southern California Air Conditioning Distributors (SCACD), a distributor of air-conditioning equipment, used the ultraviolet (UV) frequency to improve indoor-air-quality problems and save energy in its administrative facility in City of Industry, CA. Ten UV fixtures were installed by SCACD, with one 24-inch fixture being used on average for each 4 square feet of coil surface area. With the UV light-equipped devices, SCACD enjoys a 30% increase in total system cooling capacity.

Snack manufacturer cleans up its act with new dehumidifier

Article Abstract:

Munters Corp's new dehumidifier has enabled a Fort Myers, FL-based pizza maker to meet federal requirements on safety and sanitation. The snack maker had been having a hard time meeting the regulation because of current manufacturing conditions that inhibits the daily wash-down of plant equipment using steam-injected water. The new humidifier did not only clear the fog and prevented condensation during a wash-down, but also reduced wash-down time to two hours.
