GM Nameplate cuts first-article inspection time by 50%

Article Abstract:

GM Nameplate achieved first-article inspection accuracy by 0.0001 in. in half the time by using the Avant 600, a coordinate-measuring machine from Optical Gaging Products Inc. The system saves time as its programmability enables it to repeat the geometry of certain parts which it has been earlier introduced. Finally, in-house inspections performed by Avant 600 save money by eliminating the need for outside inspection services.
