Al Krebs: farming's corporate crisis

Al Krebs, who directs the Center for Study of Responsive Law's Corporate Agribusiness Project, presents his views on the relationship between corporate farming and rural environmental degradation. Krebs advocates a grassroots movement to push for increased corporate accountability.

Farmworkers remain a poorly compensated workforce with only minimal access to health care, and they are at high risk for environmentally-induced diseases. The Farm Labor Organizing Committee (FLOC) has taken steps to organize migrant workers to improve conditions.
