Biological treatment of synthetic wastewater containing 2,4 dichlorophenol (DCP) in an activated sludge unit

Article Abstract:

Effects of feed 2,4 dichlorophenol (DCP) concentration on COD, DCP and toxicity removals, and on sludge volume index are investigated at a constant sludge age of 10 days and hydraulic residence time of 25 h. The Resazurin method based on dehydrogenase activity is used for assessment of toxicity for the feed and effluent wastewater.

Phosphate uptake and release with different carbon sources in biological nutrient removal using a SBR

Article Abstract:

A three-step batch reactor (SBR) was used for nutrient removal from synthetic wastewater with different glucose-organic acid mixtures (1/1). The effects of different organic acid-organic mixtures on phosphate release and uptake rates in biological nutrient removal in a sequencing batch reactor were investigated.

Biological nutrient removal from pre-treated landfill leachate in a sequencing batch reactor

Article Abstract:

Landfill leachate containing high chemical oxygen demand (COD) is pre-treated by coagulation-flocculation with lime followed by air cleaning of ammonia at pH=12. The process of removing nutrient from pre-treated leachate is presented using a lab-scale sequencing batch reactor (SBR).
