Causes and consequences of individual variation in territory size in the American red squirrel

Article Abstract:

Survival should be correlated positively with territory size and that both individual attributes would contribute to variation in territory size is predicted in American red squirrels (Tamiasciurus hudsonicus). While large territories may confer a survival advantage to squirrels, the territory size that is unrelated to individual physical attributes is concluded.

The influence of prey consumption and demographic stochasticity on population growth rate of Isle Royale wolves Canis lupus

Article Abstract:

Annual variation in kill rate explains 22% of the variation in wolf population growth rate for the isolated wolf population on Isle Royale. The relative extent to which wolf population growth rate is affected by density dependence, prey availability (moose, Alces alces), winter weather, and demographic stochasticity is assessed.

Density dependent population growth of the two-spotted spider mite, Tetranychus urticae, on the host plant, Leonurus cardiaca

Article Abstract:

The nature of Tetranychus urticae's population dynamics is examined. The effects on mite dynamics are investigated by the manipulation of plant size and quality.
