Characterization and coagulation of a polyaluminium chloride (PAC) coagulant with high Al13 content

Article Abstract:

The Al13 species in polyaluminium chloride was separated and purified by the SO(super 2-)(sub 4)/Ba(super 2+) deposition-replacement method and characterized by (super 27)Al-NMR and XRD. The Al13 species has a higher positive charge and is the most effective polymeric Al species in water and wastewater treatment.

Investigation of the uptake ability of fly ashes produced after lignite combustion

Article Abstract:

Fly ash samples from the five steam electric power stations of the Lignite Center of Western Macedonia were used in a study to examine their uptake ability. The uptake ability of the studied samples ranged from 89 to 101 mequ/100 g and was mainly attributed to the amorphous material and the microporous minerals.
