East Liverpool: a green litmus test for Clinton

Article Abstract:

Residents of East Liverpool, OH have demanded for a reevaluation of a government policy that would allow the operation of the world's biggest hazardous waste incinerator located in their town. The facility was built in 1981 by the Waste Technologies Industries. During their presidential campaign, Pres Bill Clinton and VP Al Gore have promised that once they are elected, they will direct the EPA not to permit a test burn prior to the incinerator's operation. However, the test was conducted towards the end of the Bush administration.

Our green hopes for the New Year

Article Abstract:

One of Pres Clinton's and VP Gore's pledges during the US presidential campaign is the preservation and protection of the environment. Pro-environment supporters, however, need to be watchful and see to it that these political agenda must be carried on at least in the next five years and hopefully into the next century. They have come up with a list of their hopes for the environment which they enjoin the people to share and work for.
