Evolutionary computations: an overview

Article Abstract:

An overview of evolutionary computation and its history is presented. Ideas from biological evolution are used in this area of computer science to solve computational problems. Many problems of this sort demand search through a very large volume of possibilities for solutions and the problems require complex solutions, usually difficult for human programmers to set up. Biological evolution is a place to look for inspiration for solving difficult computational problems.

Polymorphism in systematics and comparative biology

Article Abstract:

Systematics and comparative biology and polymorphism therein are discussed. Polymorphisms often ignored by those who study macroevolution, systematists and comparative evolutionary biologists. Integrating within-species variation and microevolutionary processes into studies of systematics and comparative evolutionary biology represents an example of benefits of exchanging ideas in the population genetics and systematics fields.

Evolutionary physiology

Article Abstract:

An overview is presented on the development of evolutionary physiology as a discipline, focusing on its four methodological approaches. These are phylogenetics, consideration of diverse mechanisms, incorporation of evolutionary selection and genetic research data, and generalization of molecular studies to exotic organisms.
