Is the relation between nutrient supply and biodiversity co-determined by the type of nutrient limitation?

Article Abstract:

Patterns appearing in correlative studies comparing plant diversity and ratio of soil to vegetation do not depend on experimental manipulations that attempt to increase biodiversity. Colonization limitation appearing in fertilized plots because insufficient diaspores of potentially new species could colonize plots to compensate for species extinctions.

Underestimation of Spartina productivity in western Atlantic marshes: marsh invertebrates eat more than just detritus

Article Abstract:

Current methods of measuring growth rates for marsh grasses in western Atlantic regions must be adjusted to include grazer exclusions. Herbivore effects significantly control seagrass growth, even when herbivorous crabs and snails are discounted.
