The new view of animal phylogeny

Article Abstract:

A conceptual framework of the current understanding of animal phylogeny in light of recent advances has been presented in a study. The study draws on various analyses to build a basic comparative framework of metazoan phylogeny, discusses support, or lack thereof, of major hypotheses and catalogs significant papers for those less familiar with the field.

The posterior and the prior in Bayesian phylogenetics

Article Abstract:

The behavior of the posterior probability in Bayesian and frequentist terms and its relationship to parametric and nonparametric bootstrapping are discussed. The use of priors in phylogenetics and the issues surrounding the specification of informative and minimally informative prior distributions is presented.
