Offshore windmill farms: Threats to or possibilities for the marine environment

Article Abstract:

The influence of the developments of offshore windmill farms along the European coastline and its impact on the marine environment containing rare species and levels of influences are discussed. However, the reef effects like addition of hard substratum are believed to have a major impact on the marine environment and at various levels, also the results obtained from natural habitats, and artificial reefs and other man-made constructions at the sea are compared with the effects on various scales.

Article Abstract:

Human encroachment and weather instability are reducing environmental resistance to denudation in Poland's Tatra Mountains. Recreation facilities and tourism have contributed to ecological threats such as sewage in streams and air and soil pollution. The resulting environmental damage has lessened the region's ability to withstand the impact of floods and erosion.
