Population dynamics of Microtus pennsylvanicus in corridor-linked patches

Article Abstract:

Research shows that constructing corridors between fragmented habitat patches increases animal population movement and produces associated changes in animal population demography. These findings, obtained from field studies of the vole Microtus pennsylvanicus, suggest that corridor construction would be a valuable component in conservation biology.

Dispersal and individual quality in a long lived species

Article Abstract:

The main objective in evolutionary ecology is to access and understand covariation between fitness components and trait values and their consequences. The effect of dispersal on mean reproductive performance and the individual reproductive potential using dependent variables is discussed.

Modelling occurrence and abundance of species when detection is imperfect

Article Abstract:

A class of models that enable estimation of abundance and occupancy relationships from counts of organisms that result from surveys in which detection is imperfect, is presented. Under such models, parameter estimation and inference are based on conventional likelihood methods.
