Rainwater harvesting agriculture: an integrated system for water management on rainfed land in China's semiarid areas

Article Abstract:

An evaluation is presented on rainwater harvesting agriculture in China's Gansu province, which involves the collection and storage of precipitation that would otherwise have become runoff. Although this process has been successful for small farms, many technological, political, economic and social issues need to be addressed before it can be used on a larger scale.

Surface ozone in China and its possible impact on agricultural crop yields

Article Abstract:

An analysis is presented on the predicted effects of ozone precursor emissions on China's agricultural industry, using estimates drawn from alternative exposure-response functions. Estimates predict that corn, soybean and spring wheat crops are the most vulnerable to ozone increases.
