Soil erosion and conservation in Yunnan Province, China

Article Abstract:

Researchers in this study discuss the severity of soil erosion within the headwaters of the Yangtze River in Yunnan Province. The headwaters are active and geologically unstable. The Basin is also under agricultural use mainly for rice cultivation. Consequently, erosion rates are high and of concern because of the construction of the Gorges Dam in the middle section.
