Soil water: basis for conservation and management of the plant cover of dry areas

Article Abstract:

Several strategies can be used to maintain or increase vegetation cover in arid regions. These include restoring natural plant cover, introducing human-initiated plant cover with vegetation suited to hydrological resources, coordinating urban and rural development and adopting stationary feeding systems rather than continuing extensive grazing practices. Vegetation cover is crucial in preserving soil water in dry areas.
