Statewide mapping and assessment of vernal pools: A New Jersey case study

The Center for Remote Sensing and Spatial Analysis (CRSSA) mapped efforts to develop a complete potential visual pool database in order to identify individual isolated vernal pools and areas of high local density. It used visual interpretation of leaf-off color infrared digital orthophotography in a computerized geographic information system environment to identify and map over 13,000 potential vernal pools.
