Theoretical models of species' borders: Single species approaches

Article Abstract:

Invasion models in uniform and heterogeneous environments as a framework for understanding non-equilibrium range limits is considered and conditions under which invasions may cease to spread leaving behind a stationary range limit are explored. The aims are to provide a conceptual framework that captures the major population dynamical causes of range limits.

On the roles of time, space and habit in a boreal small mammal assemblage: Predictably stochastic assembly

Article Abstract:

The northern mammal assemblage is introduced and the ways the multinomial logistic regression could be used as a tool to investigate spatial and temporal patterns in its assembly is described. The way in which repeated probabilistic rules of local assembly could be reconciled with the emerging unified theory of community ecology is examined.

Spatial and temporal heterogeneity of trophic variables in a deep lake as reflected by repeated singular samplings

Article Abstract:

A comparison of the composition of six trophic variables from three trophic levels in a deep oligotropic lake within temporal and spatial sampling resolutions is discussed. Factor analysis was used to determine abiotic variables which may explain the heterogeneously distribution of the trophic variables.
