Turbidity and nitrate transfer in karstic aquifers in rural areas: the Brionne Basin case-study

Article Abstract:

Research is presented on groundwater flow in karst areas of the Brionne Basin, Normandy, France, focusing on the increase of nitrate concentrations since 1980. Proposals to prevent further degradation of the region's water supply include modification of farming practices, as agricultural intensification is the primary source of pollutants.
