An information-theoretical analysis of budget-constrained nonpoint source pollution control

Article Abstract:

The budget-constrained, nonpoint source (NPS) pollution control with costly information acquisition and learning is analyzed. The fiscally constrained manager can reallocate resources from abatement effort to information acquisition when information acquisition increases overall increase abatement effectiveness is shown in the analysis.

Equity and efficiency in international markets for pollution permits

Article Abstract:

The normative properties of international permit markets for uniformly mixed pollutants is investigated. The properties of international permit markets related to the three normative criteria Pareto efficiency, second best, and cost-effectiveness are discussed.
