MSW composting in the United States

Article Abstract:

Municipal solid waste (MSW) composting has become an established element of solid waste management in the US, even though it is still undertaken on a relatively small scale. MSW composting facilities are operating across the country, and there are plans for the construction of further units. In Iberia Parish, LA, financing is being sought for a $7 million MSW composting plant using Bedminster technology, while in Mora, MN, the East Central Solid Waste Commission is considering the possibility of restarting its composting facility.
