Digester and composting anchor manure solution

Article Abstract:

High nitrate levels in Morrisons Cove?s water persuaded Pennsylvania?s dairy farmers to adopt technologies that reduce soil nitrate levels from cow manure while producing compost and renewable energy. Instead of landspreading manure, manure is collected and processed via anaerobic digestion and turned into compost and biogas.

When a city?s survival depends on more dairies?and more manure

Article Abstract:

Dairy farmers in Myrtle Point, Oregon, are contemplating participation in a project that will use anaerobic digestion to convert cow manure into methane gas. The project will involve changes in manure handling procedures, such as the addition of scraping systems that collect fresh manure that has not been washed down.

Digester provides power and cow comfort

Article Abstract:

Anaerobic systems on Illinois dairy farm supply renewable electricity, crop materials and bedding replacement that would help to improve the milk quality. The project has many uses but the main drawback of the project is the difficulty in dealing with the utility, which led to delay in the project.
