House GOP allows fuel economy, Arctic drilling in new energy bill

Article Abstract:

The House Republicans' planned amendments to corporate average fuel economy standards and the bill authorizing oil and gas exploration in Alaska's Arctic National Wildlife Refuge as part of Bush administration's new energy legislation are discussed. Additional information on the proposed amendments to be included in the new energy policy is offered.
