Implementing a low cost program

Article Abstract:

Curbside recycling service based on long-term concerns for the environment, rather than immediate garbage disposal, is being administered in Loveland, Colorado at the request of its residents. This new method of recycling was initiated by Mick Mercer, Streets and Solid Waste Manager. The Loveland Solid Waste Division, is a self supported service funded by the taxes from residents to reduce the cost of recycling and disposal of wastes. The method includes new features such as collecting the garbage bins by special trucks, and separate bins for newspapers and hard materials like glass, steel, and aluminium.
