Keeping it moving

Article Abstract:

Makers of materials handling equipment have shown increasing willingness to design equipment that are suited to the needs of the scrap metal industry. Scrap processors are increasing their investments on new material handling equipment more than ever. Equipment specifically designed for scrap recyclers include hydraulic machines designed to provide faster cycle times and higher lifting capacity. The new machines also feature various attachments which improve the capacity of recyclers to move their materials efficiently.

Multi-tasking

Article Abstract:

The increasing need for the ability to handle multiple types of materials at material recovery facilities (MRFs) has caused the emergence of balers that are considered multi-tasking specilists. The varying demands of these MRFs has contributed immensely to the production of equipment that are considered thinking machines, which means that they are capable of adapting to the demand of the recycling process without much human intervention.

Maximum output

Article Abstract:

A number of factors must be determined prior to choosing a baler for a reycling business. One of these include the ability to maximize output, which, in itself is determined by a number of design factors. These include the force and size of the cylinders that compresses the materials being baled. The force exerted by the cylinders determines the weight and density of the bales while the size determines the baler's speed or cycle time.
