Recycling companies derive several benefits from purchasing used equipment, including cost savings, speed of delivery and opportunity to sell machinery they have outgrown. They are, however, reminded to check if the used machine they are going to buy will suit the precise application they intend for it. In addition, they should purchase used equipment with a guarantee or warranty.

Lead fraternity keeps the loop closed

Article Abstract:

Lead battery recyclers have become the leading supplier of secondary lead primarily due to the implementation of exchange programs in automobile battery stores. The exchange policy requires a buyer of a new battery to exchange an old one before making the purchase. In addition, supply of secondary lead came from lead battery recyclers because of the high- recycling rate of lead acid batteries.

Dismantling a way of life?

Article Abstract:

Automotive recycling is a lucrative business with the Automotive Recyclers Assn estimating 4.7 million vehicles acquired for dismantling and recycling as well as $8.2 billion in gross annual revenues for the business in 1997 alone. Automotive recylcing has traditionally been a relatively fragmented industry but increasing competition and consolidation may eventually change the nature of the business in a profound manner.
