Political garbage (talking trash)

Article Abstract:

The general public needs to challenge candidates and political parties to come up with concrete waste management programs that will answer national, local and environmental concerns. A progressive refuse disposal program centered on the development potential of the recycling industry can lead to economic recovery. An evaluation of the export value of recycled goods should be made to determine its potential as an export commodity. The US solid waste management program has lacked efficient guidance from the leaders of the country.

The garbage barge syndrome

Article Abstract:

Various governments are trying to find effective and cheaper methods for sewage disposal. The main priority is for waste recycling methods that offer a low cost alternative for these purposes. The need for cooperation by state agencies and legislators in educating people and fellow legislators about the advantages of waste recycling is described, as well as the unjustified scepticism by journalists and media persons regarding waste recycling citing the case of a New York, NY, garbage barge incident in 1978.

Garbage czar: an open letter

Article Abstract:

The Vice-President Al Gore had made an assurance that the ecology of the United States would be given priority during his campaign. He can implement his promises by working with Congress and the Environmental Protection Agency.
