Bucking high-tech's downward pull

Article Abstract:

The technology sector suffered a broad decline due to the dot-com bust, however, the government IT contracts grew as a result of the renewed emphasis on security after the September 11, 2001 attacks. It is estimated that the technology sector would enjoy success both on the commercial side and on the government side, only if the importance of technology was recognized.

More steady growth: Hispanic ad expenditures increase 11 percent to reach nearly $1.9 billion

Article Abstract:

Expansion in Hispanic advertising expenditures slowed to 11% in 1999, from 21% in 1998. However, the Top 50 Advertiser total rose 30% to $545.97 million. The impact of the Internet on Hispanic advertising is discussed.
