Inner-city light: With the help of government funding and local employers, a Detroit nonprofit gives at-risk youth a brighter future

Article Abstract:

The Detroit Hispanic Development Corporation (DHDC) helps young gang members give up their useless and dangerous life on the streets for an education and a future career. Government funding programs and private sponsorship help cover the expenses for the education and training of more than 1,500 youths and adults each year, with the corporate sponsors ensuring that the youth are suitably trained to be employed in their companies after graduation.
