The US Hispanic community shortlist 100 most influential people for the year 2004s Hispanic Business Directory. The emphasis for the selection was based on politics, financial industry, non-profit organizations, the growing power and influence of the elite group, emerging from different fields like technology, athletics, education and industry after being nominated by the web visitors, contributing editors and writers, magazine staff and the nominees themselves.

The 100 Influentials named improving education as the top priority of the Hispanic community. A total of 92% of them said they would not support a presidential candidate who opposed affirmative action. Survey results also cover business growth, immigration, and other issues.
