Wholesale: a booming economy doesn't help wholesalers, whose profit margins continue to shrink

Article Abstract:

Economists are cautious about the outlook for the wholesale industry. Declines are expected and distributors may end up having a rough year. Revenues decreased 8.5% on an average in 1998. There are 71 wholesalers on the Hispanic Business 500 list this year; last year there were 86. Customer demands are rising faster than the infrastructure to meet those demands.
