Crib lib

Article Abstract:

Young children should sleep in cribs as long as they're happy in them. When they discover how to escape, a gentle transition to a bed includes use of a safety gate and a renewed commitment to household 'childproofing.' The bed should be pushed up into a corner of the room to prevent falling off.

The family bed: some parents prefer to bunk with their babies from day one

Article Abstract:

A family bed gives babies more security and allows parents to bond with their children. Mothers also may lower the chances of sudden infant death syndrome by keeping their infants in bed with them. A family bed does not appear to have an adverse effect on children's independence.
