Although breastfeeding twins can be a logistical nightmare, 32% of American mothers of multiples breastfeed their children for six months or more. Suggestions are given on how to start the process when premature multiples are late to start nursing, how to juggle the multiple feedings, and how to feed two babies simultaneously.

Babies' refusal to nurse may be caused by a foreign object in the mouth, a different scent worn by the mother or health problems. To stop nursing strikes, mothers are advised to regularly check the inside of their mouths, use beauty products with familiar smell or consult their doctors.
