Father involvement in childrearing and the perceived stability of marriage

Article Abstract:

The hypothesis that major involvement by fathers in childrearing is linked with high marital stability has been tested against two differing hypotheses about marital stability. Analyses suggest that the marriage is more stable when fathers are more involved in childrearing. This is probably due to the fact that the wife is happier when the husband is strongly involved with the children.
