How to talk to your child about sex

Article Abstract:

Family therapists recommend that in teaching children about sex, parents should have many small talks about sex over the years, rather than one large discussion. Children may be unable to grasp the concept of sex in one conversation. Smaller talks when children are interested in specific incidents arise are the best way to convey information.

Promises Promises: a parents' guide to making them - and breaking them

Article Abstract:

Parents who make and keep promises to children have more effect on children than the promises of anyone else in their lives. Keeping promises helps establish a child's trust in the parents. An occasional promise will probably not be emotionally damaging. Children will get the message that they don't matter is too many promises are broken.
