Article Abstract:

It usually takes newborn babies a few months to adjust to the circadian rhythm of sleep on which most parents function. Techniques may be applied to take advantage of environmental clues in helping adjust a baby's internal clock. Lowering the lights a hour or so before bedtime and reducing stimuli helps the baby quiet down.

Three mothers were given a brand-new look and a weekend in New York in Parenting's 4th annual Makeover Mom Contest. Two had hair and makeup treatments and the third mother consulted a wardrobe stylist. All had relaxing spa treatments, lunch and some sightseeing.
