Parent satisfaction with case managed systems of care for children and youth with severe emotional disturbance

Article Abstract:

The family satisfaction perceived with children's case management services for severe emotional disturbance was evaluated. The Family Mosaic Project of San Francisco, CA, administered the study through the Family Satisfaction Survey. Results of the survey revealed that parents were quite satisfied with the agency's case managers and services. Parental satisfaction was based on the client, service and outcome variables and retention of current case managers was directly related to parental satisfaction.

Predictors of length of stay among youths hospitalized in state hospitals in Illinois

Article Abstract:

Length of psychiatric hospitalization among youths admitted in state hospitals varies. A univariate analysis indicates that age of the individual is the strongest predictor of length of stay which may be attributed to the long term mental health outcomes of children and adolescents. Young, male, African American and psychotic individuals are the stereotyped chronic patients in many state hospital systems.
