Advice on strategies for managing and reducing sibling rivalry is presented. Causes of siblings squabbles, such as boredom, competition, jealousy and frustration are explored and ideas on handling conflict are suggested.

The fine art of the time-out

A time-out period is the best way to give young children a chance to get themselves under control and correct their misbehavior. The procedure should be treated as a chance to start over rather than a punishment. Being consistent in enforcing time-outs is important.
