Designer details for straight-skirt makeovers: adapt a basic straight-skirt pattern to create four different skirts with distinctive details

Article Abstract:

A basic straight skirt can be made more interesting and elegant by adapting its pattern and adding several designer details. Steps on how to adapt an Yves St Laurent knife-pleated overlap, a Vivienne Westwood's extended center-back vent, a Costume National's decorative side pocket design and a Rifat Ozbek perfectly shaped hem, into a basic straight skirt are presented.
