The Metropolitan Museum of Art's Costume Institute in New York, NY, is staging an exhibition entitled 'Extreme Beauty: The Body Transformed.' This exhibition is designed to show how ideals of beauty have influenced fashion design throughout the years. Consideration is also given to how fashion has moulded the body to adhere to these ideals.
