Fitting: high hip vs. sway back

Article Abstract:

The bunching of fabric at the back waist may indicate a high-hip curve or a sway back. The figure variations are commonly confused. Waistline wrinkles at the side and side back and draglines from the hop to the crotch on pants are created by hip fullness near the waistline. Wrinkles on the skirt and draglines from the crotch to side seams on pants are created by a tilted pelvis.

Diamonds on your sleeve

Article Abstract:

An interesting diamond design using a mitered ribbon inset, inspired by French designer Jean Patou, will add sparkling design to a new garment. Patou used silk grosgrain ribbon to create a chevron effect on the front and sleeves of a jacket designed in 1937. The technique requires careful mitering and a neatly faced opening.
