The first lesbian soap opera, The L Word, starring Jennifer Beals and Laurel Holloman as the lesbian couple, is reviewed. The girly intimacy of the series is something new and as fresh as the general plots are sterile where Jennifer plays the role of Bette the gallery owner and Laurel plays the role of Tina an executive.
