EU prices largely stable

Article Abstract:

Although governed by wildly divergent prices in various Member States, the average food spend of EU citizens remained stable in 1998. Including soft drinks, EU citizens spent just 1% more on food last year than in 1997, which is in line with the 1% rate of inflation registered for the European Union as a whole
