Over 275 white Burgundies are rated on a scale of one to 100, with tasting notes and prices provided. Cbahlis, Cote de Beaune grands crus, Macconais and other wines are evaluated. A 1995 Ramonet Chassagne-Montrachet Les Grandes Ruchottes at $70 is rated 97.

Simply Chablis by Laroche

Article Abstract:

Vintner Michel Laroche has made an excellent straight Chablis. His 1990 Chablis St.-Martin Vielles Vignes is made from 30-year-old vines and rates on a par with the prestigious premiers and grands crus. His winemaking methods are described.

La grande Leroy: a tasting of 59 red Burgundies from Maison Leroy and Domaine Leroy provides oohs, aahs and some surprises

Article Abstract:

Rare grands crus were tasted by a group of collectors in New York in Sep 1996. Many of the wines tasted were superb. The wines are rated on a scale of one to 100, with prices included, and winemaker Lalou Bize-Leroy is discussed.
